Eric Logan for MathSoc President
As Foretold by Nostradamus
OK, maybe not. Anyway, hi everyone! I'm Eric Logan, a 3B CS/C&O
student. My name might look somewhat familiar to you. I used to be the
editor of mathNEWS and Director of the Math Endowment Fund, which means that
I have the experience in volunteer and financial management that the job
of President requires.
The job of President requires more than experience, though. If
elected President, I have a number of goals that I would like to achieve:
- Enhanced Communication With the Student Body: In recent times,
a serious disconnect has developed between the Society and the student
body, and I plan to make addressing it a major focus.
- Improved Student Representation: Nominations of undergraduates to Faculty and School of Computer Science governing committees needs to become a more open process. I'll bet you didn't even know such positions existed.
- New Furniture for the MathSoc Office: No one knows the last
time MathSoc got furniture that didn't come from the UW Surplus Sale.
How about facilities that don't look like a dump?
For strong, decisive leadership and an improved Society, vote early, vote often, vote Eric.
